During this time of economic prosperity, Japan was investing heavily in infrastructure and undergoing deep social change.
Historian, Alexandra Munroe,
described the period as "undoubtedly the most creative outburst of
anarchistic, subversive and riotous tendencies in the history of modern
Japanese culture."
To sum up, this was an incredibly vibrant, tumultuous time
to be in Japan — and it was all captured beautifully on camera.
